When you apply hair dye to your hair you are adding lots of chemicals to it. These chemicals are used to remove, replace and/or cover up the pigments naturally found inside the hair shaft. The chemicals used are often nasty and can cause allergic reactions, damage to the hair, skin discolouration or unexpected hair colour results. In my opinion it is much better not to dye your hair but if you really want to, using a semi-permanent dye will cause less damage to your hair in the long run.
