Aerogels are the world’s lightest solid. This makes them very important materials. They even have two Guinness World records! Aerogels are officially the least dense solid and hold the record for returning the first sample from a comet back to earth. Exciting stuff!

My Typical Day:
All of my days are different but I do spend a lot of time designing experiments and testing my new materials.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I’d put together chemistry kits which will be used to create bangs, fizzes and colour explosions on the move!
